Laura Marie holding a book titled 'Tangled in Thorns' from The Enchanting Vines series, smiling at the camera.

Hi, I’m laura marie.

I’m a sarcastic ray of sunshine, a devoted wife to my long-suffering husband Keith, and a homeschool mom of two—one of whom is my pint-sized, sass-filled clone. I’ve been an artist in every form imaginable: from smearing paint across a canvas to designing bold sports graphics to crafting a perfectly timed comeback. Creativity isn’t just my outlet, it’s my chaos, my calm, and sometimes my caffeine substitute.

Like most dramatic creative types, I dabbled in writing for years (and dabbled is a really loose term), but it wasn’t until Quinn and Raeban broke into my imagination like uninvited houseguests that the story floodgates burst open. Suddenly, I was scribbling scenes between co-op lessons and muttering dialogue in grocery store aisles, stopping mid-step to jot things down in my notes app. When your characters hijack your brain mid-discussion about health insurance, it’s time to write the book.

I write steamy romance and emotional fantasy with heart, heat, and a sharp edge of sarcasm. My characters are messy, bold, and unapologetically real—just the way I like them. And trust me, I’m just getting started!

My writing Approach

“fantasy-lite” (modern fantasy, but make it readable)

I love fantasy, but not the kind where you need a 400-page glossary and pronunciation guide to survive a single chapter.

My worlds are fantastical, but approachable.

romance that actually simmers (no insta-love)

I don’t do instant soulmates after a two-second glance. While it can be fun to read from time to time, it’s just super unrealistic (and sometimes cringe-y IMO).

My slow-burns earn very spark… and then light the whole damn forest on fire.

sharp tongues, fun banter, & Messy love

My heroines don’t do weak. They don’t back down.

My love interests are a little overprotective and only slightly unhinged.

The banter will keep you giggling at all hours of the night.

dark edges, real scars, healing trauma one word at a time

My writing bites. Sometimes it’s sharp, triggering, and filthy. Sometimes it makes you feel things you didn’t know you wanted to feel.

It all comes from a place of trauma and healing. But I like to sprinkle in a few healthy doses of “oh no they didn’t” for good measure.

why i write:

  • To show that even in dark places, there’s always a way to find light. And sometimes that light has a sarcastic sense of humor and questionable morals.

  • Because storytelling healed pieces of me I didn’t know were broken, and now I can’t shut up about it.

  • And honestly? Because it’s fun to create chaos on the page that would get me arrested in real life.

how i write:

A little panster, a little plotter, a lot of coffee. I start with an outline, then let my characters completely ignore it.

Emotion first. If it doesn’t punch me in the gut or make me laugh at 2 am, it probably doesn’t make the cut.

No fluff for the sake of fluff. Every scene has to earn its place, or it gets yeeted into the deleted folder.

WHAT’s next?

Quinn and Raeban aren’t done yet.

Wilted in Shadows, book two in the Enchanting Vines Series picks up right after that jaw‑dropper ending in Tangled in Thorns. There’s fallout to face, secrets to dig through, and more danger closing in. Quinn’s self‑discovery is nowhere near finished. The story is only getting sharper, darker, and a whole lot messier.

And because my brain refuses to rest…

I’m also plotting a standalone dark stalker romance. Let’s just say she knows exactly who’s watching her—and she’s known him far too well, for far too long. This outline is unhinged in the best way, and I’m not even promising you a happy ending.
